Peanut Butter and Jelly Cup (c)

$40.00

This is a hand-made porcelain cup with glaze made to resemble a big glob of peanut butter and jelly. The glazes are formulated and mixed in-house, and not available anywhere else. They are my own creation, and the result of countless hours of testing and adjusting.

This cup was fired in a hot-rodded obnoxiously overpowered home-built tiny turbo kiln (made partly out of vintage first aid kits), on a kiln shelf that was salvaged from a toilet factory.

While each piece is made to high standards, they may have slight surface irregularities. This is the honesty of the material and process and is normal. It’s the “wabi” in the wabi-sabi. Honor it.

Over time, this piece may show signs of handling or wear. This also is normal and should be celebrated. This is the “sabi” in the wabi-sabi. Embrace it.

These pieces are finished with homemade glazes, and no claim is made about their suitability for food, drink, microwave, or dishwasher. Ultimately, these are fine pieces of art, and extra care should be taken with their use and handling. Just be kind to them so they will last a long time and your kids can fight over them when you die.
