Ploopware Tumbler (white/rainbow)

$55.00

Ploopware™ is a revolutionary new product that exists at the intersection of art, nostalgia, sci-fi, whimsy, and beverages.

It’s handmade from stained porcelain, fired, sanded, glazed, and fired again. Every step in the process is completed by hand, one piece at a time, in a purpose-built studio, by Chris Locke, proprietor of Heartless Machine™, inventor of Ploopware™.

The Ploops™ on the outside are made from a proprietary glaze formula, developed in partnership with Midnight Ceramics specifically for use in Ploopware™ and is currently not available anywhere else. The inside of the vessel is coated with a clear glaze (also hand-mixed in-house) to make the piece food-safe. The outside of the vessel is unglazed porcelain, which feels velvety and contrasts nicely with the slick blobs of glaze.

While each piece is made to high standards, they may have slight surface irregularities. This is the honesty of the material and process and is normal. It’s the “wabi” in the wabi-sabi. Honor it.

Over time, this piece may show signs of handling or wear. This also is normal and should be celebrated. This is the “sabi” in the wabi-sabi. Embrace it.

These pieces are presumed to be food safe, so drink with confidence. They are probably dishwasher safe and microwave safe, but I don’t recommend it. Ultimately, these are fine pieces of art, and extra care should be taken with their use and handling. But they’re probably ok. Just be kind to them so they will last a long time and your kids can fight over them when you die.
