"Old Man" is an Analog Tele-Phonographer made from an antique silver-plated baritone or euphonium and part of an antique silver-plated trombone. It’s attached to an antique lamp base with scrap steel, and left without any lacquer so it will continue to develop patina over time. Currently, the silver is tarnished beautifully with patches of blue, green, and seemingly iridescent areas. If the purchaser desires to polish it, the silver should be in pretty good condition and shine up well.
This piece is tall and elegant, and sounds amazing. The vertical orientation reflects the music off the ceiling, and down to fill the room. Baritones and euphoniums give a deep, rich, warm sound that dramatically outperforms smaller horns. This piece should be placed centrally in your home, so the sound can be enjoyed in neighboring rooms as well. Alternately, it can be placed near a window, so your neighbors can see it and hear it, and be constantly jealous of you.
This horn will make the sound from your iPhone or iPad louder and richer, using no electricity, wires, plugs, or batteries. The shape of the horn is enough to add 25 decibels or more! But it's not just about volume, it's about quality of sound as well.
This work of art is hand-made, one-of-a-kind, and was created entirely in America with reclaimed materials.
This piece is shown with a stainless dock that fits every iPhone since the 4, and docks can be made to fit Android or other devices. The dock is easily removed (with no tools required!) and can be replaced for future upgrade.
